BC462-3H Alternator, 35-60 Amps (Homebuilt)
The BC462-3H is the same base alternator as the BC462-H but configured for use with the FK710-1.25 Spacer Kit. This configuration will allow the BC462-3H to be installed with a BC700 Oil Filter Adapter used with a 1.4″ or longer spacer (this is common on Van’s RV aircraft).
The BC462-3H continues our tradition of innovation, offering robust performance and superb efficiency. Rated at a nominal 35 to 60 amps @ cruise RPM, it mounts on a standard AND20000-spec accessory pad, and is built to the same quality standards you’ve come to expect from B&C.
Every BC462-3H features a CNC machined billet aluminum mounting flange for superior durability. Inside you’ll find heavy-duty sealed ball bearings, two internal cooling fans, a precision dynamically-balance rotor (a B&C quality essential), and a special “shear section” drive coupling. Suitable for 14 volt or 28 volt applications, the BC462-3H is designed for aircraft-style external control, and may be used as either a Primary or a Standby Alternator, depending on your electrical system configuration. It should be appropriately matched with our LR3D, LS1B, or SB1B Controllers.
Measuring 4.92″ wide and 6.05″ deep, and weighing only 6.75 lbs., the BC462-3H will clear the tachometer cable and oil screen on stock Lycoming engines with dual-magneto accessory case. Includes mounting gasket and pre-wired field connector assembly.
APPLICATION NOTE: The BC462-3H may interfere with the Lycoming horizontal oil filter adapter used on some Lycoming engines. The BC462-3H must be installed with the FK710-1.25 spacer kit (sold separately). This configuration is designed to avoid the interference with a BC700 Oil Filter Adapter installed with a 1.4″ or longer spacer. Please call us with any questions.
NOTES:
Use of non-B&C regulators/controllers may damage the alternator.
